LAMPUNG SELATAN – DT Peduli Lampung, in collaboration with multiple partners, officially inaugurated a clean water facility in the form of a borehole well at Pondok Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) Al Miftah, Baru Ranji Village, Merbau Mataam District, South Lampung Regency, on Tuesday (3 September 2025).

The program was made possible through the generosity of DT Peduli Lampung donors and partners, including TDM Honda Lampung, TDM Honda Sidomulyo South Lampung, Musala Daarul Hijrah, BPOM Bandar Lampung, Tunas Mekar Indonesia (TMI) School Lampung, and Ibu Maimunah binti H. Sukur.

After a long drilling process, a reliable water source was finally found at a depth of 65 meters, producing a strong and clear flow. The rocky soil meant progress could only reach 0.5–1 meter per day, causing the project to take approximately five months to complete.

Previously, Al Miftah relied on a single 12-meter well, insufficient for the students’ daily needs. For bathing and washing, they had no choice but to use the river, which often dried up during the dry season and became murky during the rainy season.

“On behalf of all the staff and students, I express our deepest gratitude for this borehole facility. It is truly beneficial for meeting the daily clean water needs of our 200 students, including water for ablution. May every drop of water from this well become ongoing charity for the donors,” said Ustadz Ridwan, caretaker of Al Miftah.

The borehole was officially handed over by Redi Ansah, Head of DT Peduli Lampung, to the school’s caretaker, witnessed by the students. The facility includes a water tank and piping installation to ensure the water is immediately ready for use.

“On behalf of the donors, I am honored to hand over this borehole to Al Miftah. Please make the best use of it so that its ongoing rewards may continue to flow to the donors and to all of us who have witnessed its establishment,” stated Redi.

This clean water initiative reflects DT Peduli’s commitment to supporting the health and well-being of students in Islamic boarding schools. Since these students will grow to become future leaders and role models in society, ensuring access to clean water is a fundamental pillar for their development.
