Access Cut Off for Two Days, DT Peduli and XL Smart Deliver 76 Food Packages to Seulayat Residents

PADANG PARIAMAN – DT Peduli, together with XL Smart, mobilized swiftly to deliver assistance to residents affected by flooding in Nagari Seulayat, Uluakan District, Padang Pariaman Regency, on Monday (1 December 2025). A total of 76 food packages were distributed to families who had been isolated for the past two days after the main access road was completely severed.

Flooding that submerged residential areas left around 600 households struggling to meet their basic needs. The food packages provided by XL Smart and DT Peduli were aimed at helping families cover their daily food requirements—especially those whose supplies were running out due to being unable to leave the village.

Fabyan Andara, Head of the DT Peduli West Sumatra Representative Office, explained that this assistance was an urgent response to ease the immediate burden on affected families.

“For two days they survived without any external support, and alhamdulillah the access is now open. Hopefully this aid will be beneficial for those who receive it. InsyaAllah, we will distribute everything to those who are most deserving,” he said.

Muhammad Idris, Wali Nagari of Seulayat Ulakan, who welcomed the DT Peduli and XL Smart team, expressed his gratitude to XL Smart.

“Thank you very much to XL Smart for providing assistance to our community affected by the flooding from the 22nd to the 28th of November. Alhamdulillah, the aid has been very helpful. May it be counted as an act of worship, and may those who provided it always be in good health. Thank you,” he said.

In addition to delivering food packages, the joint team from DT Peduli and XL Smart also conducted follow-up assessments on recovery needs—including sanitation, clean water, and additional household supplies. The collaboration between zakat institutions and corporate partners is expected to accelerate the distribution of aid during disaster situations.
