SUKABUMI—DT Peduli Sukabumi distributed canned meat aid to survivors of the landslide disaster in Langkapjaya Village, Sukabumi Regency, on Friday (September 13, 2025). The aid was delivered to help ease the burden of 100 people from 28 families who have been living in temporary tents for nearly eight months.
The displaced families, including children and the elderly, continue to endure difficult living conditions. Cecep, one of the survivors, shared how hard it has been to live in makeshift shelters.
“Alhamdulillah, this aid helps ease our burden. But what we long for the most is a permanent home, so we don’t have to keep living in tents under these conditions,” he said.
Gina Muharam, a program officer at DT Peduli Sukabumi, explained that the struggle for survivors doesn’t end with the initial disaster.
“Disasters don’t just leave wounds in the beginning — they bring long, ongoing struggles afterward. We want to stand alongside the community, accompanying them until they fully recover. We hope the survivors can keep their spirits up while waiting for the government’s relocation program, so they may soon have safe and permanent housing,” she said.
